Hair Removal
We provide a range of hair removal services using the very latest electrolysis equipment – and offer facial and upper body electrolysis for clients who want to eliminate unsightly hair.
WHAT IS ELECTROLYSIS?
We provide a range of hair removal services using the very latest electrolysis equipment, namely Apilus – the chosen system for electrologists throughout the world. Its advanced electrolysis technology has powerful, computer-controlled circuitry and gives the highest degree of precision and control when treating unwanted hair. It uses application pulses as little as one-thousandth of a second, which assures virtually pain-free treatment.
Geraldine offers both facial and upper body electrolysis for clients interested in the elimination of unsightly hair. She can provide a wealth of knowledge gained from her experience to help you choose the right approach.

Always very professional at my electrolysis appointment
“Geraldine as always very professional at my electrolysis appointment today. She has invested in COVID equipment to ensure herself and her clients are well protected. I had no worries attending this appointment”
THE TREATMENT
A small, disposable metal probe is gently inserted into the hair follicle (without puncturing the skin) until it reaches the base of the hair root. A tiny electrical impulse is delivered through the probe by a sensitive electronic device, which destroys the hair root. Depending on the technique used, the electric current destroys the hair root either by heat or chemical action.
Here is a brief outline of the different methods that the Apilus Cleo Blend offers to provide pain-free, effective, permanent hair removal:
ELECTROLYSIS – (Galvanic) Our body is made up of salt and water. The combination of saltwater and direct current creates sodium hydroxide. This chemical reaction destroys the hair’s regenerative cells within the hair follicle.
THERMOLYSIS – (High Frequency also known as Short Wave Diathermy) This method applies a split second impulse of alternating current at the base of the hair root. This creates heat which destroys the regenerative cells. The heat is produced in low intensity within the skin tissue around the probe end.
BLEND – A combination of the above two methods, the heat from thermolysis speeds up the chemical reaction of the sodium hydroxide created from the electrolysis. The hair root is destroyed by both heat and chemical action simultaneously.
Best service and up to date treatment
“If you looking for a very knowledgable, professional skincare therapist who takes a vested interest in giving the best service and up to date treatment, with a friendly approach that makes you feel like a friend rather than a client, then this is the place to come to.”
IS ELECTROLYSIS PERMANENT?
Yes. Once the hair root has been destroyed, the hair cannot grow back without nourishment. The supply has been shut off, therefore another hair cannot grow in the follicle.
The word “permanent” should not be confused with “immediate” where hair removal is concerned. To permanently eliminate active hair follicles requires a series of treatments over a period of time.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED TO ACHIEVE PERMANENCE?
Electrolysis treatment programmes are tailored to meet each individual’s needs. Certain factors determine the number of treatments required. Density and coarseness of the hair, the size of the area to be treated, the sensitivity of the skin, the curvature of hair follicles, heredity, hormonal balance, the consistency of treatments and previous methods of hair removal are all factors.
Treatments will be more frequent in the beginning and less frequent later on. With each treatment, regrowth appears finer in texture and weaker in colour. The overall results, permanent hair-free skin, are well worth the time spent.
